About UsMitch Atkinson, owner and master guide of Far West Hunting, was born and raised in Northern Utah. He grew up participating in his family legacy, hunting. Mule deer, elk, and black bear were part of the schedule year after year. At the age of 21 he moved to Alaska in pursuit of hunting the last frontier. He was soon employed by Pioneer Outfitters based in Chisana, Alaska. Bear, moose, caribou, and dall sheep hunting became part of his blood. He still returns every year in pursuit of the infamous Alaskan game. Mitch began hunting in Arizona in 1989, particularly for muzzleloader elk. He raised his 5 children to hunt as well and made many family trips to fill the freezer and create lasting memories. He has a passion for the outdoors and wants to help your hunt become the most memorable ever.
Eric Perkins, assistant guide here at Far West Hunting, is new with the team this year, but not new to the hunting scene.
